A few days ago I heard a story about a family who were driving to a wedding “do”. Dad was driving, mum sat in the front passenger seat, little David was in the back seat with his granny who was wearing her new hat.

Jasper the dog was in the back of the hatchback and unbeknown to the occupants of the car, he had taken quite a shine to granny’s hat which sported rather a large feather. Jasper had been watching in fascination as the feather bobbed up and down enticingly as granny excitedly chatted to little David.

Without any warning Jasper was over the back seat and granny’s hat was knocked off at great speed as Jasper took a lunge at the feather !! You can imagine the rest ……….!!

A funny story perhaps, but not for poor granny. As mum later reminded dad, if he had purchased a good-fitting car dog guard granny’s hat would still be in one piece, the dog would not have been in serious trouble and the day would not have been ruined.
