chinchilla cages
Find a chinchilla cage that is as large and as comfortable as possible for your chinchillas as this is going to be his home for a long time and he will spend most of his time in here.
Chinchillas can never have a big enough cage, but obviously you must have the available space to put the cage in. The chinchilla cage certainly needs to be big enough for it to run around in and should have shelves and a sleeping box.
When you buy the cage, think about the reasons you are keeping a chinchilla. As chinichillas are very active from birth, they will soon be climbing the sides of the cage, so if you intend to breed, make sure that the sides of the chinchilla cage are not too high for the babies to climb, or there is a danger they will fall and either hurt themselves badly or even possibly kill themselves by breaking their necks.
Floor space is a very important factor, more so than height so the chinchilla cage you choose should be at least 18 “D x 36″W x 30″H and they should also have a run to play in during the evenings or when you are there to supervise.
Chinchillas really need a chinchilla cage where they have got enough space to be comfortable and run around freely in and they must be given the opportunity to be on their own if they want to and room to hide if required.
