Dog beds are as individual as dogs

There are so many different styles of dog beds around, it becomes as complicated as choosing a bed for yourself. Most people know about the nesting beds, the bolster beds, the rectangular and round beds. You also get orthopaedic beds for those dogs that have special needs or are getting on in years.

So how do you decide which of the plethora of dogs beds on the market will suit your lifelong companion the best? Most of us are so excited when we bring our new dog or puppy home, we totally forget about getting a suitable dog bed. This is not a calamity, but it would be good to look at dog beds before the arrival day – or your new dog may take it upon itself to choose your sofa or bed instead!

The bed should suit the dog

There are so many styles and kinds of dog beds that it can be difficult to choose one. There are cot-style beds that are elevated off the floor. These are incredibly comfortable even for use outside on a patio. The best way is to actually think about your dogs personality and needs as well as the physical size of the dog.

The heavier the dog, the more durable the construction of the dog beds should be. Some dogs like to stretch out when they sleep while others want to curl up snugly. Take your cue from this when you look at different dog beds. If your dog is new and you don’t know how it sleeps yet, try and find a bed that would accommodate both.

No matter how exotic or unique the dog beds are that you like, be aware that you must keep the bed clean. So, always choose dog beds made from materials that can be easily cleaned and maintained.
