All dogs love to be outdoors but we haven’t always got the time to take them out numerous times a day.  The next best thing to a walk is to be out in the garden, especially on fine days when they can smell the air and their natural curiosity urges them to see what is going on around them.

 If you have a safe, enclosed garden then that’s great, but if you want to keep your lawn intact and your garden borders free from digging then purchasing a dog run is the ideal solution.

You can either buy the dog kennels that have a run attached or you can buy a dog run which will incorporate a kennel.  Dog runs come in different sizes and some are galvanised for extra durability.  You can either buy the separate panels and bolt them together or you can buy a ready-made dog run which can work out cheaper.  The ready made dog runs tend to be made from mesh and are easily assembled.  Some of the dog runs have the option of a waterproof cover which is ideal for keeping the rain off and also offers some shade in the sunny weather.

You will have peace of mind knowing that your dog cannot escape into the road if someone opens the gate and if you provide your dog with a good quality kennel or buy the type of run where the kennel is attached, then you know he will also have somewhere to sleep that is warm, dry and cozy.

Always ensure your dog has plenty of toys to play with in the dog run so that he doesn’t get bored and make sure he has plenty of fresh, clean water to drink.  If you are leaving him in the dog run for some time don’t forget to leave him some food to eat as well.
