Kennelling your dog
Kennelling dogs is an ideal solution if you have to go out to work. Dog kennels that are quality built, draught free and large enough for your dog to lie in comfortably are an excellent purchase. Dogs provided with dog runs have an even better solution.
Outdoor dog kennels provide dogs with a “den” from which to shelter from the cold and the rain or some shade from the sun on hot summer days. Fill it with your dog’s favourite dog bed and he will feel safe and secure until you come home.
Place his favourite toys in the run area and he will find this interesting and not get bored whilst you are away from home.
It is unethical to leave dogs chained or tethered and unsupervised. It is also cruel to leave a dog without adequate shelter. These practices can also lead your dog to display numerous undesirable behaviours like constant barking and aggression through frustration and stress. Dog kennels can solve this problem for dogs and their owners.
Leaving dogs unsupervised with children can also be a recipe for disaster. If you have an outdoor kennel and run for your dog, your children can play safely without causing your dog (or you) any stress.
Remember that dogs should have plenty of water to drink whilst you are away and should be fed adequately on your return.
It is important that dog kennels and dog runs are frequently hosed down so that the dogs’ environment is always clean and hygienic.
Dogs enjoy a clean environment just as we humans do and surely your dog deserves the best treatment you can give him.
