Maintenance-free wooden pet products
Outdoor products for pets such as dog kennels poultry houses or chicken coops are out in all weathers so it is well worth considering purchasing a tanalised or pressure treated hen house.
The process of pressure treating or tanalising involves soaking the timber in a chemical preservative and then placing it in a vacuum under controlled conditions. This forces the chemical deep into the pores of the timber to provide a maintenance-free product for many years.
No need to annually treat your dog kennel or chicken coop with preservative to stop it from rotting in the poor weather, the tanalising or pressure treating process eliminates the need for this.
You will have to pay a higher price for dog kennels and chicken houses to be pressure treated in this way, but this is surely better than paying for animal-friendly preservative and having to physically paint the preservative on the coop on an annual basis.
