Overweight dogs
It’s sad but true that many “dog lovers” are killing their dogs by overfeeding them. The dog is a natural scavenger and believes that each meal could be his last so any food that is offered to him should be quickly accepted. Dogs can appear to be hungry on many occasions when they are not - such as when we are eating. They hover around us and trick us into believing that they are starving when what they are actually doing is reverting back to their natural instincts - that of the wolf.
To understand the implications of overfeeding your dog, gain some knowledge of how a domestic dog would eat if it were given the chance. A normal dog will not naturally eat little and often. This is something that humans do. When we feed titbits to dogs, let them clean our plates once we have finished eating or even give them a few more dog biscuits than receommended, it all helps to make your dog an overweight dog.
It is so important to give your dog one or two meals a day of a good quality, complete meal to keep him trim and healthy, but if your dog is already overweight then all is not lost. A good diet dog food can revert him back to his slim and supple self and ideas-4-pets have such a product on their site.
