I had been to the doctors as I’d had a sore throat for some time and thought it was time I did something about it.

Looking at the clock I realised that I had time to take Duke our terrier for a long walk in the park before calling in for my appointment so when when we’d finished our walk I popped Duke in the hatchback and off we went. As usual he managed to squeeze himself through to the back seat of the car.

I left Duke in the back of the car as I went into the doctors and as usual when I got back to the car he had climbed over back of the seats and was sat in the back. The back seat was muddied up and I had get him out and put in back into the hatchback. I threw my handbag into the back of the car and set off to the chemist.

Needless to say Duke again got through the seats onto the back seats and began to rummage in my bag. When we pulled up outside the chemist and I went for my prescription I realised that Duke had eaten most of it as well as some of my tissues which were half-eaten and strewn across the back seats, mixing well with the mud he’d left earlier.

That’s when I went straight home, looked on the web and looked for dog guards and dog cages that would fit my car. Within a week I received both items and have travelled stress-free ever since. When I take Duke out with me now he either goes behind the dog guard or he goes in his cage, either way I know my car seats are clean and he is safe !!

Dog guards and dog cages are not expensive when you consider how much safer your dog is when he is contained - I never did get my prescription cashed but maybe it was as well as Duke could have eaten my pills and who knows what would have happened then.
