When purchasing a chicken coop it is wise to make sure that it is waterproof, has good ventilation, suitable perches and nesting area and is easily cleaned. It is also a good idea to make sure that the coop is built in a way that is practical for egg collection

These chicken coop features are essential to keep healthy stock. It is generally recommended that the floor area should allow approx. 1.5 square feet per bird and the perches should measure approx. 2 inches in diameter.
