Why purchase a dog guard?

t96.jpgWould you let your child travel in your car without a seat belt? I don’t think so - because you want your child to be safe. Remember that it’s not only people who need to be secured in your vehicle when it’s moving, dogs need protecting too.

In a head-on collision, anything in the back of your car which isn’t fixed into place will pose a threat to occupants as it hurtles forwards. If it is your dog that is unsecured, then it is not only you or your passengers that could be severely injured, the impact could also cause your dog severe injury or even death.

This is why we advocate keeping your dog safely in the boot of your vehicle with a dog guard to protect him from possible major injury.

Most dog guards are designed to fit vertically between the rear seats and the roof and can stop items getting through from the boot to the main area of your car. Their primary aim is to keep your dog in his place but they also help to prevent luggage, shopping or anything else you keep in the back of your car from coming forward and injuring you and your passengers.

Most dog guards are made from a series of extendable bars or mesh and do not need to be screwed in. They are fitted in a way that is secure without the use of drills, hammers etc.

However, it is worth remembering that if the dog guard does not fit your vehicle properly it will not protect you, your passengers or your dog as it will become just another dangerous moving object if you are involved in a car crash.
