Hamsters - Britain’s most popular pet
Hamsters are delightful little pets and just so perfect for children, even young children.
Hamsters are a common choice of pets and it’s not difficult to tell why when you see how affectionate, adorable and full of life they are. In fact they are known to be one of Britain’s most popular pets. They are also low maintenance pets.
Hamsters are inexpensive to buy and a rodent cage is also fairly cheap, which makes them such an excellent choice, especially for children.
However, children in particular should be reminded that hamsters require a commitment from their owners to care for them during their two to three year lifespan.
Large hamster cages - space to play
The first thing to make a decision on is buying a large hamster cage so your pet has lots of space to play.
At Ideas-4-Pets we have a wide selection which includes various large hamster cages, as well as cheap hamster cages. In fact, any large rodent cage is perfectly suited as a large hamster cage.
Our large hamster cages and our cheap hamster cages offer a variety of cage styles, colours and some even have basic hamster products thrown in.
Although a small cage would suffice, it is far better for the sake of your hamster to choose a large hamster cage so all his toys can fit it and he can have loads of space as these are busy little guys.
High quality cages
Whether it is our large hamster cages, our cheap hamster cages or our rodent cages - you can be assured they are all manufactured to the highest level of quality.
Broadening your choice still further, our rodent cages or a cheap hamster cage are available in single storey or double platforms. Most rodent cages are sold with ladders too.
Even our cheap hamster cages are attractively finished in various colours, making them very attractive. Large hamster cages offer more space for your furry friend to play and explore.
There is such a large variety of rodent cages at Ideas-4-Pets. Some are conservatively designed, while other hamster cages could even be described as somewhat flamboyant in their design, colours and the manner with which they are decorated with toys.
What to look for in a cage
The ideal hamster cage will offer very good ventilation (large hamster cages are best) which is not only good for your pet, but will also prevent dampness and therefore bacterial incubation or respiratory problems for the hamster.
Another word of advice is to choose a hamster cage with closely spaced bars because as round and fluffy as they look, they really can squeeze through the smallest spaces!
And lastly, choosing a hamster cage with a deep base tray will save you a lot of work when it comes to excess litter from being knocked out of the cage.
These little fellows are adorable pets, but just as with all pets, you need to take great care of them and provide them with lots of love. After all, they are totally reliant on you!
If you're looking for something close to a hamster cage, then how about a chinchilla cage? We also do a rage of parrot cages too.
